When Marilyn Monroe signed The Seven Year Itch, little did she know that one of the visuals of the movie would go on to become the most iconic image of a whole century.

Shooting it in the late hours of midnight on a subway grate, she drew an excited crowd of thousands. They cheered and applauded through the takes and retakes, till the exact moment was captured: wind blowing up her white cocktail dress, her face wearing an expression of sensuality that is hard to portray these days.

That was her hallmark all through her short, brilliant life. That and her ability to depict life with the kind of joy that belongs to a child, or a kitten. She came across as a person who had nothing to do with suffering, or ugliness. As if she had been brought up in some radiant utopia, where lifelessness had no chance.

The confidence with which she faced life, and the attractiveness which she displayed were the unmatchable gifts that someone can offer to the world!
